GUR TG September 10, 11, and 12 were the dates for the Harding Theatre's presentation of Our Town. Being the first production of the year, the play turned out to be a good success despite some conflicts along the way. The central character of this play is the town itself. The characters, that are portrayed, are citizens of the town leading simple lives and getting along as best as they can. It is a story of people and their ambitions, their pleasures, their misgivings, and their sorrows. Because the story is so realistic, one is able to look at life at a whole and appreciate living it. Each act has a different title. Act I is labelled Daily Life . He is a character who is the audience's all-seeing link with the people in the town. Act II is named Love and Marriage . It is here that the love affair between Emily and George culminate and in a touching scene they are married. The title given to Act III is Death , In this act, it is learned that some of the characters have died, including Emily. She wishes to go back to life to relive some memories only to find out how futile it is to return. Emily finds out that the living do not really know true happiness.
