The Student Council acts as a connecting link between the faculty and the student body, sponsoring numerous func- tions tor the students' education and enjoyment. Annual events placed on the calendar ot the student council, and handled entirely hy that organization, include the Halloween Carnival, crowning ot the University Queen, Sadie Hawkins Week, and the all-university banquet. ln general the Student Council promotes a friendly atmosphere among the students, en- courages school spirit, and works with the various organizations ot the school in solving various problems that arise. Ironing out difficulties is the student association's specialty. Purposetulness, cooperation, and willingness account for the past success ot the student council, and truly characterize the year's work that has immediately past. Serving as president during the tall semester was Elmer Oatman, popular varsity grid- der whose mid-term graduation created a vacancy, filled by Lewis McCaleb, cowboy basket- ball player. Winston Tucker replaced McCa1eb as vice-president.
