AT THE close of this, the A forty-fifth year of Har- din-Simmons University and the twenty-seventh year of my administration, I want to express my heartfelt appre- ciation to each member of the student body of 1935- body in the history of the institution, and certainly we have had the best year we have had during the past six or seven years. I beg you to know that I am grateful to each of you for the earnest- ness and the loyalty you have manifested toward the administration during the Christian Education has played, and must continue to play, a vital part in the growth and development of our civilization if we are to realize the highest and best of which we are capable in the realm of the physical, social, intellectual, and spiritual. Only the Christian university can fur- nish that complete, well-rounded development that will yield increasing returns in Christian man- hood and womanhood. It is my daily prayer that you may have found here an effective expression of the basic fundamentals of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and that you may, down the years, ren- der a service worthy of your Alma Mater and of Him in whose name this institution was founded and
