This little act of courtesy and delicacy is in the fond memories of their cooperation, and unselfish interest in everything, from the student government on down to the disgusting duly of yelling jor one’s team. We have spent many hours of thought and contemplation on the theme of this page, and finally landed on the idea of making the same theme as the organization—nothing. The artist (Greenberry) has sought to bring out the grace and the poetry in the various diddle daddies of the organization on the drill field. May this page endear The Bronco to your hearts, Cowgirls. This enlargement has been necessary because of the larger enrollment and advancement in depart- mentation in Hardin-Simmons. It has grown with the school from a small cardboard-backed book to the 1936 edition, that is as finished as any book of its class in the United States. The Bronco withdrew, with the Brand from the T. I. P. A. in 1935, and is now a member of the yearbook division of the Southwestern Journalism Congress. This publication is published under the super- vision of the Journalism Department, and the Publication Board. The latter selects the editor and business manager at its annual meeting. The staff is then picked in turn by the men or women so selected. The aim and policy of the book is to portray the university life as completely and as uniformly as possible, and to classify each activity, and organi- zation in its respective importance. The editor and business manager wish to thank the students and others who were so cooperative in the production of the book. U.’s, it is thought of as the connecting link between the university and the local churches of the city. It is an organization composed of the lay students, the Ministerial Council, the Mission Workers, the Y. W. A. on the campus, the B. T. U., and the S. S. of the local churches. Although this is chiefly a Baptist organization, it en- courages students of other denominations to be faithful in Sunday School and church attendance to the churches of their choice. The B. S. U. has one sole purpose—Christ and His cause. This year the organization has carried on a very constructive extension work in many of the smaller churches coming within a radius of one hundred miles of Abilene. The church calling for a program to be presented by the B. S. U. had a choice of the following types of programs: Missions, a Missionary Pageant, Consecration, Stewardship, B. T. U., S. S., or any other allied subject. Special numbers in the form of voice, piano, violin solos, and chalk talks make up a part of these programs. There have been about seventy-five students who have assisted in Sunday School and B. T. U. study courses this year. Every Baptist student on the campus is considered a member of the B. S. U. Hardin-Simmons is most fortunate in having Miss A. M. Carpenter as Director of the B. S. U. She has served in this capacity since 1926.
