ik - ■H Htonay Beta Club officers are: Bonnie Purcell, Historian; Sandra Goard, Reporter, Howard Fackler, Treasurer; Naomi Carter, Secretary; Louise Corns, President; Susan Shough, Vice-President. One of the Beta Clubs projects is tutoring the elementary students in their spare time. Senior Beta Members: (LEFT TO RIGHT) Eva Stout, Louise Corns, Naomi Ann Terry, Sharon Ellis. The words character, scholarship, and leadership surround the Beta emblem in gold, as indeed, they surround the action and goals of the Beta Club itself. The Beta Club is an honor to the qualifying student, it also requires exceptional integrity from him in all phases of his school life. A high academic standing must be combined with the earned respect of both students and teachers and evidence of a loyal willingness to work for the club. To pay for the Club’s projects and expenses of the state convention held in Richmond, the highlight for every Beta member, the club sponsored the Little Miss and the Junior Miss H.R.M.S. pageants.
