The Student Council must have the cooperative efforts of everyone in order that the SCA fulfill its purposes. The SCA is directed by the Student Council, which is made up of elected homeroom representatives, SCA officers, publication editors, and clubs and classes presidents. With services to the school as its chief goal, the SCA conducted many activities this year, such as the following: served as guides to the first graders during the first week of school; maintained attractive bulletin boards; presented flowers to teachers on their birthdays; directed a book fair to provide new reading material for students; in charge of Christmas program for high school and was responsible for treats for elementary departments. Under the sponsorship of Mrs. Louise Hall, the FHA has produced a satisfying flame of accomplishment this year. They had a fashion show for the girls, they carried out UNICF before Christmas, they collected clothes and food for welfare children. They also had a Health Booth at the Fair and won a Blue Ribbon for it. This year the FHA Chapter has two officers in the JEB Stuart Federation. They are Edith Via, who has held office of treasurer, and Gayna Craddock, who has held office of historian. Gayna gives demonstration in FHA class. No ji student organization enjoys greater freedom self-government under adult counsel and guidance, than the Future Farmers of America. Organized in November 1928, it has served to motivate and vitalize the systematic instruction offered to students of agricultural education, and to provide further training in farmer-business-citi zenship. The FFA is a non-profit, non-political, non-sectarian farm youth organization, however, all organizations must have funds with which to operate. Therefore, the Will Reynolds Chapter of the Future Farmers of America sponsored a Chapter Sweetheart Contest, and sold concessions at H.R.M.S. basketball games as fund raising projects. Through these activities the FFA members have experienced feelings of honesty and fair-play in accomplishing a worthwhile goal. The Will Reynolds FFA Chapter at Hardin Reynolds is one of the nine school chapters that comprise the Fairystone Federation of the FFA. Lloyd Hopkins, the chapter Reporter, also holds the office of Sentinel in the Federation. Our chapter also participated in the Federation Forestry Contest in which we placed seventh. These contests give students a chance to compete with students their own age for honors that are given by the National Organization. This competition gives students a desire to win, but also instills in them the rewards reaped by fair-play.
