SENIOR HISTORY One morning in September 1933, twenty nine freshmen gathered on the grounds of H. R. 31. S. When the bell rang they filed into the building to see what would happen. To our surprise and best ad. vantage, we were placed under the resolute direction of 3Iiss 3Iaggie Joyce. We were full of fun and mischief, so it took Miss Joyce some time to make us realize what was before us. During this year the freshmen and sophomores went on a picnic to the old Critz Mill. As the year rolled on quite a few dropped out. Only twenty three remained at the end of the year. After an enjoyable vacation, we again started a step further to¬ ward our destination. Due to death and other misfortunes our number was reduced to eighteen. This time we were placed under the super, vision of 3Iiss Martha Anthony. We were beginning to learn what our high school work meant to us. We were glad to welcome another va¬ cation and think of ourselves as juniors. After another merry vacation we returned to gain more knowledge of this world and its ways. We, eighteen in number, were directed by 3Ir. Fred Price. Jolly juniors, we were. We won the honor of being the most well behaved class in school. The happiest event of the year was the Junior-Senior Picnic given at 3Irs. Tompkins’ spring. As the term came to a close, we realized that we would soon enter the role of dignified seniors. As we entered the school doors for our senior year, we realized what was before us. Failing to feel the dignity which is rightfully ours, we struggled forward with 3Iiss Mary Lee Martin as our home room teacher. The highlights of the year were the organization of the class and the exciting moment when our rings came. Then came “Bashful 3Ir. Bobbs,” the senior play. Afterwards the juniors enter¬ tained the seniors with a banquet at Tuck’s Palm Room. Last came our diplomas which were received amid a shower of tears.
