Hawks Give Their Best ln 84 This year the Hawks finished the football season 7-3. They battled down to the wire and were close to winning a district championship. Here's what the football players have to say about the season. This was a great year. We almost pulled it off. We were so close, but we played our hearts out. We just came up a little short. l'm going to have to leave, but the underclassmen can handle the job next year, said Kelly Shaw, wingback. Cornerback Brian Hamm said, This was the best year since l've been playing football. I wish we would have made it to the playoffs, but we did better than we were picked to do. I wish I had just one more year because next year we are going to have a good team. Splitend Clayton Doucet stated, l'm going to miss the guys and the coaches. I just hate to end my last year with a loss. We had a good year. Our attitudes were great, and we played like champions the whole year. Defensive tackle Doug Carmon said, This was a good year. l had a lot of fun. I just wished I had another year. l'm going to miss all the contact because it was fun hitting people. The Hawks had a great season and almost did what nobody thought they would and that was to win the district championship.
