l-IARDIN-JEFFERSON CHAPTER OF FUTURE The Hardin-Jefferson chapter of the Future Farmers of America has always been an active and successful group. The school year of 1984-85 is no exception. The Milk Quality and Dairy Foods team placed fourth at the Area IX judging contest held at Sam Houston State University. This earned them a trip to the state contest held at Texas A8tM University. The Meats Judging team came in third at the Area IX contest which qualified them for the state contest. The Forestry team won second in the district and also went to the state contest. The Poultry Judging team earned a second place in the contest held in Beaumont at the South Texas Fair. They also placed fifth out of forty-two teams in the Stephen F. Austin University contest in Nacogdoches. The Area IX contest saw them in sixth place with Robert Baker being the fifth high-point individual in that event. The Land Judging team won first at the Lower Neches Soil and Water Conservation District contest. Team members Robert Baker and Tommy Davis took first and second high point individual honors there. The senior Rice Judging team placed in both the Winnie Rice Festival and the South Texas Fair. Daniel Davis won high point individual honors.
