New Choir Sings its Way Into l-I-J Hearts For the first time in eight years, Hardin-Jefferson has a choir, and for its first year the choir has made good progress both individually and as a group. At the beginning of the year, director Mrs. Deidre Linney and the students decided that they should let the public know they existed. Working toward that goal, they made many appearances. The choir's float won first prize in the Old Timers' Day parade. They presented a very successful musical at Christmas. They attended UIL events in the spring. They sang for many groups including the Lions Club, the Ministerial Alliance, and the 1985 graduation exercise. The choir rewarded themselves for a job well done with a visit to Astroworld. The students who made that trip will always remember the good time they had. Choir members ride their prize-winning float in the Old Timers' Day parade. Sheri Fontenot, Linda Atkins, Karen Michulka, Tonja Manuel, Stephanie Landrum, and Carolyn Harmon practice for the Christmas musical.

Junior-Senior Prom ls ' Best Ever The 1984-85 Junior-Senior Prom, held at the Hilton Hotel in May, was declared to be the best ever. The theme was One More Night and the decorations were balloons, balloons, and more balloons. Delicious food and good music added to everyone's enjoyment. it Mx .
