KY' w Ethel Jones, Monique Brown, and Agnes Harmon Captains Clifton, Padgett, and King five a pep talk. Pep rallies are the highlights of the week during football season. Students and teachers alike look forward to the Friday spirit session. For them, it is an enjoyable event - nothing to do but go and yell and take part in a splendid let it all out event. For other participants, however, it is a different story. The cheerleaders, the drill team, the flag corps, the band, the players themselves, and the sponsors and coaches have worked hard to prepare an outpouring of spirit that seems spontaneous. Each of these groups works all week to get ready for that thirty-minute show. Many hours of practice go into each pep rally. lt is difficult and challenging to come up with a different routine every week, but Hardin-Jefferson's students do just that. Of course, the pep rally is only a preview of Friday night's game. The purpose is to build spirit and cheer the team on to victory! The Starlettes entertain. Seniors lift Robb Hamm into the air.
