Hawk Baseball The varsity started out great by winning three of their first four district games. Things went downhill from there. When it was all over, the Hawk's district record stood at five wins and seven losses. This put them in fourth place in the standings. Individually, several Hawk players received honors. Mike Clifton and Jimmy Padgett made All-District at third base and first base respectively. Mical Padgett was second team All-District at pitcher. Brian Hamm was second team All-District at catcher. Clayton Doucet and Terrance Thomas each received Honorable Mention All-District. Brian Hamm led the Hawks batting with a .465 batting average and received the Most Valuable Player Award for offense. Jimmy Padgett was the defensive standout and received the Most Valuable Player for defense. According to Coach Cotton, Overall, the season was disappointing as everyone likes to do a much better job than we did. l'm very optimistic about next year as we have some good ballplayers coming back and several more who have expressed a desire to play baseball next year. Has Great Start '1 Brian Hamm shows the iorm that made him the leading batter. 5 Z I I Second team All-District Brian Hamm waits to catch the ball.
