Everyone has a class but not everyone makes it there, at least not on time anyways. Some are too loud but most are just boring. As Pink Floyd would say, “We don’t need no education!” 5 “Food fight!” yells Mr. Anderson. There is food flying all around. A bowl of rice lands right on Mr. Gilbertson’s head, while outside, Ms. Small is chasing cars on foot and barking. You think - no, it can’t be true. Well, it’s not, but just imagine if it was ac-tually a possibility. Anyway, we’ve had many a good lunch hour, not as exciting, but fun and relaxing. 7 Guys and girls are getting on buses, cruising around, walking home, and riding bikes. There are so many kids going to so many places. Actually, they feel as if they’re not getting anywhere! 8 It’s PDA______all the way! Public Display of Affection is supposedly banned from the halls. Obviously, this rule is not taken seriously. Hugs and kisses get people through the day so it shouldn’t be stopped; but there is a limit to all good things. 11 There are a lot of unfavorites in high school. Take for instance, the school lunches, or homework on the weekend, or pop quizes over filmstrips that you slept through. And then, of course, there are the pet peeves such as hair pulling, nail spitting, and getting your car boxed in while in the parking lot, by people who got their licenses out of boxes of Generic Raisin Bran. Can you believe that from all of this, these are some of the memories that you’ll keep the longest? DETENTION NOTICE Student............................ Date to be served Rule-Infraction ................... Classroom Teacher Detention Teacher ................. 13 The students at Hardin High School like to break the monotony once in a while and get rowdy. This usually happens when a weekend is approaching. Fridays are the rowdiest. The kids are anticipating Friday night and all of the fun they are going to have until Monday rolls around again. 17 Parties, parties, parties! Thats all I hear about. Drinking parties, slumber parties, pizza parties and any other party you could possibly think of. All everyone does in HHS is party, party, party. So what do ya say Let’s have some fun. 20 21 The teachers at Hardin High make up the rules and regulations in our school. We would like to thank them because it just wouldn’t be much fun to do bad things if there wasn’t the possibility of getting caught. Besides, without teachers, we students wouldn’t be here. 22 SENIORS 8. fi om smoker to athlete m 11. Slippery When V 10. chubby cheeks rhere I’m going? % 14. Hello..yeah..blah,blah,blah 13. The women teachers might have made a better team since we lost the football game but-who knows? With all of the participation in the events of the week the Bulldogs had the support that they needed so it must have been a matter of bad luck! 44 Crazy days are here again along with a lot of spirit. At the pep rally, the girls (oops) the guys-Mr. Gilbertson, Mr. Anderson, Mr. Nesovic and Mr. Auker-really got caught up in the excitement. The Homecoming parade turned out great. The Junior class float, “The Dogfather,’’won first place. 45 Let's Not Forget The Royalty Of 1986 The 1986 Homecoming against the Billings Central King and Queen are Mat- Rams, thew Jabs and Annie Seykora. They were spotlighted in the dance that followed the home coming football game Homecoming candidates standing back row 1 to r: Matthew Jabs, Chris Mattingly, Alan Three Irons, (not 46 pictured) John Gordineer. Sitting I to r: Lora Pickett, Cassandra Walks, RaeAnn Jurak, Annie Seykora. The Fun Will Always Be Remembered From the Freshman to the Seniors, everyone helped prepare for homecoming. Our Varsity football players get ready for their big game against the Billings Central Rams, which was on October 3rd. It was lost but not forgotten. Also, these Freshman really dive into their work while Senior, Mark Schoen, makes sure Matthew Jabs gets the goal post straight. 47 Never Forget The Fun Of Homecoming Don’t forget all of the outrageous outfits that were worn during spirit week. Remember how the parade put smiles on everyones’ faces. It’s a lot of fun when everybody gets together and participates in the events of the week—it’s great! 48 Don Allen Michelle Allen Cheryl Bad Bear Gayle Bad Bear Danny Barnes Ann Bennett Travis Birdinground Miles Boggio Robin Borgeson Nicole Cadena J.D. All members were busy learning different styles of music ranging from pop to legitimate concert music. This year Hardin hosted the Eastern A Chorale Festival with Mr. Thompson presiding as director. It was a monumental task but Mr. Thompson did a great job. Congratulations to those who went to District and State Festival, although there is not enough room to list all of the groups and individuals who came back with high scores, we can say they were many. We will always REMEMBER this years excellent young artists. 73 Hardin's Super Group This year was a very productive one for the Star-shine Show Chior. Throughout the course of the year, the show chior produced a superior at the District and State competitions, and embarked on a tour of three towns. It is a remarkable achievement for these people who worked to make it a reality. It is an attractive addition and an asset to our community as a whole. I hope it will be recognized as a step in the right direction toward improvement of the quality of life for our community. I hope that students, the school community and the total community can point with pride and feel good about the quality of our new fascility and our entire school system. Sincere best wishes Joe Koebbe DamviJ Standing L to R: Harvey wCllOUl DO Cl I Cl Pitsch, Wayne Moccasin, Lambert Vandersloot Jr., and Jim Herbal. We, the students of Hardin High, owe a lot to these guys so we give our many thanks. 131 Mr. Svee Superintendent Many times in the coming years you will take out your annual to share memories with friends, to check people that were in your class, or simply to enjoy going back in time. Whenever you take this book out, 1 hope the memories that come back to you are happy memories; that the years you spend at Hardin High School are always enjoyable; and that the memories you are creating, remain enjoyable for the years to come. Always remember that our memories are not for the years but the moments within the years. 1 hope that each of your moments is memorable. Mr. Gilbertson Principal If you toss a pebble into a pond there is a ripple which spreads across the pond. The influence of education spreads in much the same way, influencing many people in varying degrees. Just as the ripple may be causd by either a purposeful or an aimless toss, so may your life be purposeful or aimless, as you may choose. It is our basic hope that the educational experience of the past four years have given your life a sense of purpose and direction, that you are better equipped to toss your pebble of influence where it will not be wasted in meaningless lapping at the shores of “status quo’’. Rather may you accept the challenge to dedicate your life to the betterment of your circle of influence, ever remembering that careless actions, like carelessly tossed pebbles, may generate circles of discontent and anxiety. If you toss your pebble into the pond of human endeavor with deliberation, you will find your influence spread in ever widening circles, touching and influencing persons and places whom you may never know. Mr. Anderson Vice Principal Well Seniors, you have come to a point in your life that many of you have been waiting for; to be on your own and to be your own boss. I congratulate you on your accomplishment of getting through high school, but in the same breath caution you to approach this new found freedom with thoughtfulness and common sense. The class of 1987 is graduating on enormous amounts of talent and and potential. What you people do with that talent and potential is up to you. I encourage you all to take stock in yourself and face the reality that you are prepared to take on life’s challenges. . Nothing is impossible if the desire is great enough to achieve that which we are striving for. I am proud to asociate myself with you, as students, for you have been an example to me. I wish you only the best in your lives and would like to hear from each of you some day. The cooks work super hard trying to think of something that we students will enjoy to eat. They are some of the most important people in the school because they are the ones with the hardest job - preparing meals and cleaning up after the lunchtime crowd. So, let’s all remember the cooks who helped us through our long, hard school days. 137 Clean It Up! Let’s not forget the clean halls we came to in the mornings and the dirty ones we left that night.
