A Few Moving Words. . . For the past twelve years, I have had the opportunity to be a part of the Hardin Schools. Together with the Class of “83” I will leave Hardin, but the memories of those twelve years will give me joy forever. Thank you for twelve great years. Willard R. Anderson Superintendent The 1982-83 term has been an interesting one with plenty of memories for everyone - some good, some bad. I hope this yearbook reminds you of all the good times and people you shared them with over the months. I’ve enjoyed working with you and I would like to extend my best wishes to the “Class of 1983” in their future endeavors. When the rest of you return, I hope you will strive to improve on all of the academic, athletic, music and artistic talent that surfaced this year. Don Gilbertson Principal

Table Of Contents This book of memories is dedicated to the senior class of 1983. Throughout the years they have grown physically, intellectually and socially waiting for the day they would graduate. The theme of this years’ annual is “On the Move”. It describes the spirit and never-ending pace of Hardin High School. The school pulses with energy from the time the doors open until the last bus departs. Each class moves to a distinct beat. The freshman class has made their debut, “Moving In” and acquainting themselves to new surroundings, routines and people. The sophomores are beginning to relax, setting their goals and “Moving Along” to the year 1985. Our junior class is anticipating “Moving Up” and reigning as the top class of Hardin High School. The mighty seniors are gathering their belongings: polished skills, realized talents, lifelong friends and “Moving Out” onto different paths. Good Luck to the senior class of 1983. District 17-H 1 School Board School Board: From Left to Right, Dr. Michael Downing, Donald Beary, Lambert Vandersloot (Vice-Chairman), Donald Fox, Harvey Pitsch, Dr. Willard Anderson (Superintendent). Shown below, Joseph Koebbe (Chairman). It has been a very busy year for the Board of Trustees of School Districts 17-H and 1. It is rewarding to see the good things that are happening in our school district. The completion of our building program, the beginning of a gifted and talented program, and the near completion of the curriculum development program. There are new and productive efforts being made in every area of our school system. I believe the support for better education among students, faculty and community has never been higher. This year will mark the end of twelve years of service as Superintendent of Schools for Dr. Willard R. Anderson. The Board of Trustees will do everything to make the transition from Dr. Anderson to the new superintendent as smooth as possible so that the good things will continue to happen without interruption. I would say that it has been a great year for School Districts 17-H and 1. Joseph Koebbe 4
