THE 1971 BIG HORN Hardin Senior High School Hardin, Montana Force school board to talk Hardin students rebel HARDIN (AP)-All but 16 pupils at Hardin High School walked out of classes Friday and forced a two and a half hour dialogue with school board officials over the firing of a popular principal and the jobs of two athletic coaches. The high school has an enrollment of some 350. But some ninth-graders and other non-high school pupils joined the boycott which saw an estimated 500 pupils congregate in the high school gymnasium for a meeting with the school board. Spokesmen for the pupils said the walkout stemmed from the firing of High School Principal Gene Busch, the removal of two popular athletic coaches and then spread to include other is- U£S 1 v_______I HOME OF THE HARDIN BULLDOGS The high school principal said that though the day had not been devoted to formal education, it had been an educational day. With that I thoroughly agree. Cross Country is an endurance test of one's ability to run at a set pace in the shortest time possible. This sport which is new to Hardin has just been established this year. It is for the fall season and designed for boys who have not gone out for Football but would like to condition themselves for other sports later on. Hardin's Cross Country Team for 1971 had a grand total of thirteen. The team as a whole did an exceptional job, considering their inexperience in the basic fundamentals of the sport such as getting lost on the course!
