Surrounded by hostile savages ruled by Princess Red-Hair (Southerland), our first camp was located in the Junior High School. Early in the year we were forced to strengthen our fortifications with reinforcements from Crow Agency. After enduring the hardships of the long winter, our scouting party discovered Black Lodge Falls and the entire expedition moved to this new location for a brief sojourn. In the autumn of 45 the expedition moved to the Senior High. Under the leadership of Mary Riebeththe troup stormed the “H” and under repeated attacks marked the spot with whitewash. After the victory, the enemy invited us to a Mixer to smoke the pipe of peace. Our members attended in tattered uniforms. Afte r this great council, peace reigned serene until the next fall. In '46 our brave leader fell in battle and was replaced by Loris Hamlin. In November we entertained the hostile tribes with a dramatic production entitled “The Campbells Are Coming.” The wampum secured helped us to give a Spring Sundance. The dance was held in a carnival atmosphere in the dugout of our former camp, and was a huge success. Approaching oar destination in the fall of 47 we again changed leaders, the new one being Sam Ragland, a stalwart chieftain. After duly initiating the newcomers to oar camp, we turned to the task of completing oar journal. Before de-oarting on the final lap of our journey, we were feted by the now friendly tribes. We then departed for oar final destination which was reached on l£.ay 26, 1948. Our journey being over each member a£ the expedition went his own way. 0 Henrietta Kamerzell Marilyn Koebbe Bert Kronmiller Pat Land an Bud Lawrence Ella Liming Maxine MacArthur Dorothv McGuire Eugene McLaughlin Barbara Nelson St. Clair Ottun Albert Perkins Ida Grace Peterson Jerry Ragland Edison R.
