THE BIG HORN OUR FACULTY A stitch in time has been competently taught by Miss Leikvold who practices what she preaches in style, taste and economy. She instructs only girls in cooking, but teaches them the way to a boy's heart is through his stomach. Though Miss Curry teaches Junior English the graduating class remembers her latest work with them in their thrilling comedy, The Family Upstairs the senior class play. This year she has also ably directed the Junior Class play, Lady Spitfire. To the command Eyes on the copy the earnest young typists respond with renewed energy. Miss Barlow's shorthand, typing and office practice classes prove to be practical and essential. With the beginning of the new term came a new face, Mr. Mizner, into the course of Agriculture. It surely must be a practical study for our Future Farmers. Most all of us remember Miss Kurtz for her remarkable patience and her labore diligentia. Even the dullest of us easily conquered Caesar, an unusual feat, under Miss Kurtz as generalissimo. History is the record of what man thought, said and did. After two years we seniors still remember what our Sophomore World History teacher taught us: Mr. Salyer's specific system of study is effective. Don't be alarmed Children! It's Mr. Fisher, looking for Freddie the Cat, that dissectable little creature. To teach facts concerning insects, mammals, birds and plants as thoroughly as Mr. Fisher, one must be absorbed in Biology. The Hardin high school surely is proud of its basketball coach, coach of the district champion basketball team. Geometry class is as good a a!ace as any to become friendly with Mr. Garner. For boys who feel impelled to design, devise, and construct, the experienced Mr. Goller gives reliable advice in handicraft. How could anyone but Mr. Hegre retain that enthusiasm and buoyant spirit after a grueling day's work with band and more band, a carmen chorus, and privately instructed musicians! Teaching U. S. History, Economics and Sociology sounds difficult to us, but for Mr. Rimel there's nothin' to it. Luckily for us they become less involved under his skillful guidance. He also coaches the B squad basketball team and his interest in boys extends to their physical well-being, for he is assistant football coach. Many Seniors haven't had the rare opportunity of knowing Miss Stockdal who instructs in Social Science and English. Skill in juggling figures has been Miss Ray's technique in teaching algebra. She also teaches General Science. The capable leader of the Boy Scouts of Hardin is Mr. Walker. He also advises the eighth graders arithmetic and general science. You people — You admiring seniors, English students, and toiling annual staff, will never forget our fascinating English teacher, Miss West-wood. Benefits of her artistic sense go to all who notice the neatness of her room and the attractive arrangement of books and flowers. The wide-eyed and eager Big Horn staff is enlightened on the actual work and composition of a newspaper through the patient and diligent efforts of our talented journalism instructor, Miss Graham.
