How like the clay are we, I thought, when in the schools'hands to perfection brought, For education must be cast as the highest in the land, Before it is ready for service at hand, And pride must be kept and self will achieved, All given to the school, for education received. But lo! by and by, a student transformed, Into wonderful beauty and exquisite form, Was it once a little child? Ah yes, yet how strange, The school has wrought so marvelous a change! Not a trace of childhood, nor mark of past day, The skill of the teachers have cast them away. Wonderous skill of the school--the praise is hers due, ln whose hands the progress of the nation grew, Thus with students, knowledge grew at her hand, They do not her power of working withstand, We are molded and fitted, a treasure to hold, Children now transformed into purest gold. 2 gm IVIIIIS 14-eff ,fab 2,64 2 vb I 3 -'f , Www?
