Watskey, elected as coach in athletics. had a very successful season. Including the games won in tournaments, we won 11 games and lost 10. In the Ray County Tournament Hardin placed second. The Bulldogs were playing under a one week of practice. After being beaten by Liberty in their the Excelsior Tournament, the team went into by trouncing Camden in their second game. But handicap, as they had had only first game at the semifinals the Smithville five ruined our hopes by taking our next game. Under Coach Watskey, the Bulldog cagers developed a fast break that put them on fire. They beat Lexington, Henrietta, Stet, Dover, and Lawson. It looked as though they couldn't be stopped by a team from a C class school. But again their hopes were ruined by Wellington in the Hardin Tournament. The championship game was a thrilling game, which can be seen by the score 18-16, but Wellington finally won out just at the close of an over-time period. 20
