nf ' The high-stepping Maiorettes and drum major, Bill Irby, under the direction of band director, T. James McGonigal, participated in a number of half-time shows and parades throughout the state. They were also participates in District con- test in Ft. Myers. The maiorette corps and Mr. McGonigal held routine practice sessions pre- ceded by an evening meal together. One of the outstanding presentations was the Latin American Show in which head maiorette, Diane Alderman, depicted the part of the matador, fighting the bull which was simulated by two other maiorettes, Wilma Richardson and Virginia Dishroon. The band practiced long hours each afternoon in preparation for the different formations to be used in the half-time shows. ,..-Q J Band practices to form H for halftime representing Hardee High
