Gratham I24 HALFBACKS: Lynn Foskcy and Gerald Simmon The Hardee Wildcats of Wauchula played their best game of the the Fort Myers Green Waves 26-26. Fort Myers scored first on a the second play of the game. The extra point was good and they came back on a long drive with Hinson going over from the 2. was locked. Fort Myers took the next kick-off and returned it touch own and made the point. Hardee then came back once again for a TD and extra point. The score was 14--13 at halftime. The season by tieing 44 yard run in led 7-0. This got the Wildcats ready to score and Foskey picked up the final yardage to tie it up. The McCall kick went wide and missed the uprights. Neither team was able to get started after that. The whole teamlooked outstanding. The Winter Haven Blue Devils showed their defensive strength as they defeated Hardee 25-7. They also showed their offensive strength by holding a 12-0 halftime lead. Williams took the second half kickoff and ran 89 yards for a touchdown. Winter Haven scored twice more and cinched the win. Williams proved he could run the ball b returnin the second kickoff for a TD. He also proved himself a Y 5 capable receiver by catching some good passes.
