7 The first game of the season with Fort Meade was a 7-7 tie. Fort Meade scored first when Bill Gillispie of Fort Meade picked up a fumble on our 37 yard line and ran the distance for a touchdown. The extra point was good and they led 7-0. U After the following kickoff. a short pass bounced off the I hands of TV. M. Marsh to Buddy Williams who ran 30 yards for the score. Billy McCall then kicked the point and the score remained 7-7 the rest of the game. Maurice Gilliard, middle linebacker. was outstanding on defense.
