Prom Pulls Through cspitc iinunciul difficulties . a change of schedule. and rainy weather, the prom did pull thiough. l-nr L1 while it seemed the class of 79 wuuldn't be able to raise enough mon- ey; their freshman magazine sale went wellt but the boxes of candy they sold in their sophomore year did not bring in much profit. Luckily their last project, a donkey basketball game, brought in the remaining cost that was needed. In this prom one big tradition was bro- ken and one old one brought back. To eliminate wasted time during the chang- ing of bands. there was no after-prom. However the prom lasted longeri9-2. Itis been at least ten years since Harbor had a dinner before the prom, but this year one was held to save students the cost of an expensive restaurant. The hPolynesian Paradise theme had Kent State Commons decorated with fish nets, palm trees, and a mural ofa summer sunset. The blue and gold room, the scene for the catered dinner, featured a lighted volcano and Polynesian candle centerpiec- es. Guests passed through a grass hut into the courtyard lit by torches and accented with totem poles. Two highlights of the evening were as follows: David Hood and Teresa DeDom- inic chosen as king and queen, and crown- ed by Lana Barcken and Steve McElroy, Junior class president and vice-president and the arrival ofa sexy female gorilla in a pink tutu, who unfortunately left before everyone could see her. DANCE, DANCE. DANCE. Jim McKee, Peggy Frasure, Chxis Baker, and Mary Pollay dance away to the music of Qiana. 8 ActivitiestProm
