Each September brings on another new and different school year, The hallowed halls of Harbor High'i are besieged with hundreds of students trying to get to their classes and tack- ling thcir ulways-tuo-small lockers. Everyone has new classes with differ- ent teachers and different experiences. Each of the four classes had much to do ahead of them. The freshmen ' ' T I. had to learn which staircase was up caged black cat in the main hall. and which was down. The sophomores Miss Boyce stalks again! had to work on great money-making projects. Hc brought with hlm many diversiftsd musical talents and an understanding of young people. At Harbor Mr. Kuttru initiated the Pops Concert in Wbb and the return of Harbor graduates as guest dircctots for the Spring Concert. He keeps active in the cmnmuttity by directing the Bethany Lutheran Church choir. Two of his greatest uccmnplishmcnts urc to belong to the American Scltunl Band Directors Association and to have re- ceivcd the Spark Plug of the Month Award in 1972. The 1975 Mariner staff dedicates this yearbook to Mr. Oliver Kuuru. Though he is not in direct contact with the majority of the students. his talent humor and guidance have affected the lives of many people for years. Mr, Oliver Knura. Harbor High School band director for 17 years. Mr. Kaura is always ready to listen to students. Kaleva Lodge. Kerry Cow and Pam Spring ham it up for a pep axscmbly. Dmft look so enthused. The Class of 1975 Our first year was full of the excite- ments of finally being in high schoul One of the things just about every senior does as he nears the end of his high school career is to look back over the years and recall some of the high- lights along the way. Most of us can remember fairly clearly that day when we first walked into the doors of Harbor High School. We were labeled with the title nfbeing one of the worst classes in the history of Harbur High. Now, as seniors. we hope that we have proved our title to be a fraud. and we listened intently t0 our thresh- mun class ulticcrs. Junior class candy bars disappeared from room 212 into the hands of many hungry buyers as our final project. One of the hassles we faced asju- niors was the change in tradition for our junior-senior prom. Because of fire regulations, we were forced to hold our dream nighte, at the Ashta- bula Hotel. Flowers and various types ofbushes enhanced the theme uSpring Garden.n Though faced with hardships, our prom turned out to be a success! Some move away and per- haps are seen again: some we may ncversee:1gui11,usin the case of Ann Schroeder, whu was killed in a plane crash during the summer of 1969. Ann had been in our class from kindergarten through the sixth grade. Although many of us did not have the chance to know Ann. those who did will never forget her warmth and good nature. Ann always got the most out oflife, and she will always live in our memories.
