142 And All that Fills the Hearts of Friends, When First They Feel, with Secret Pain, Their Lives Henceforth Ha ve Separate Ends, And Never Can Be One Again. w . 1' Y thistt-X'VF 6h exx; Q t ' .Xx wk hxx .nt xxhxix X i u h Nu Rh HELIA KANCAS LEHTINEN NOVEMBER 13, 1903--FEBRUARY 20, 1969 Helia Elvira Kangas Lehtinen graduated from Harbor High School with the Class of 1922. There is mischief in this one, the yearbook of that year said of her. 'Dick' is the personification of athletic energy and enthusiasm. Even when she is tired out, she manages to give the impression that she is just aching to run a race or climb a tree. She was to give that impression all her life. She greeted life with a smile and irresistible enthusiasm. Sun, rain, or snow--she appreciated them all, and somehow the day was more beautiful seen through her eyes . For she had the gift of living. Nothing was unimportant to her. She cared. She re- joiced with us over our joys and grieved with us over our sorrows. No problem was too great or too small for her to lend a helping hand, and one felt better because of her. Harbor has never had a more loyal friend or energetic booster, for her heart was there and a large portion of her life. This was her school, first as a student, and then for 21 years as sec- retary to the superintendent . One can- not count the lives she has influenced, the people she has helped, or the de- voted friends she has made.
