VARSITY CHEERLEA DEBS SENIORS Cheerleaders have the responsibility of representing the school and helping maintain school spirit, Thesc girls were Chosen by a panel of teachers who judged them on nine points: a C'r average, ability to get along well with others, leadership ability, personality appearance, acrobatic skillh conduct, reliability, co-ordination, and ability to cheer. Practices for this year's Varsity began during the summer and continued throughout the basketball season. Among their activities were making mouth- guards for the football team, decorat- ing the goal posts, and making pom- poms during the football season. The girls have also planned pep meetings, made signs to increase school spirit, and helped on drives for the Athletic Boosters. CA N D 1 DS RESER VE CHEERLEADERS B. Campbell, J. Watt, B. Kellogg, M. By eight o'clock on Saturday, May twenty-sixth. nineteen hundred sixtyvtwot the finish- ing touches were beautiful. Along the south wall of the gym were a castle wall and a mural of a distant castle. The opposite end of the gym contained a throne at which manequines, dressed as king and pages stood near a seated queen. Under the shadow Of the balconies along the side walls were tables and chairs for weary dancers. Beautiful dance music was provided by Vic Savelli and his dance band. At the after prom party. Jim Hanson spun records and Ray Jangles' Dance Band played more dance numbers. At half past three a breakfast was served by the parents.
