Nux'mnlwr came 51 11111 :11111. on the 111111111. the first dzmcc of the er was spun- smed by the SeniOr Girls, Club. It turned out a success with 21m attending: . . . Next came National Education Week. Nov. 5 . . . Students were jubilant, when night school rolled around for there were 1111 afternoon classes . Already, one-third of their final year had passed, for the second six weeks ended, Nov. 24 . . . On the same date an assembly program was put on by Jack Morrow . . . Vaca- tiun, yes, the first vacation since school started came on Nov. 29, Thanksgiving, and the annual Turkey Day football game was played before sever; 31 thousand fans . . During the vacation, the PrT. A, was in charge of the annual dance, Dex: 1. Students and ex-Har- burites in service made it a gala affair . . In assembly, Dec. 0, Edward Dill presented a. special provram Several days after the hip: snowstorm in northern Ohin, the senior tiass presented HThumbs Up. Dec. 1:2. The play was great, even though many people could not attend because of the snouuhamperm tranSDortation in the citv . . . The Christmas Meditatiun program was Dec. 17, and tho remgnition pm- gram, Dec. 21. Annthor vam- tion for the students and face ulty came nn Dec. 21. when school was dismissed at 3 u 111., f0r the Christmas vacation . . . Approximately one hundred and eightv people attended the third dance of the year, spun- snrm by the Senior Girls' and .Pilut Clubs. Dec. 23: a lighted Christmas tree in the center of the gym floor was the decoraa tion centerpiece School 1'e-41p911e1l, Jan. 2, and students came back to their classes still half asleep after New Year's live . . Another program in assmnbly was put on by the De lIarrack Cu, Jan. 15, and it was great . . . It seemed that school had just started by the time the first semester ended, Jan. 19 . . 1 Already one-half of the school year had passed, and it wasn't long; until Feb. 14, and the Mariner Variety show came: over 700 people attended the evening perform- ance and the profits were more than was expected . . . Again a day of vacation came, this time 011 Washington's birthday, Feb. 22. Two days later the Pilot Club held a dance, which proved great both in profit and in attendance; over 225 persons turned out 1 . . By now, the fourth six weeks had passed, and it was: March 2 . . . Anoth- er triumuh was the junior class play, uEarly to Bed, Early Tu Rise, presented before a full house, March 12 . . . An Easter Hop was held by the Senior Girl Reserves, March 24 . . John Frye, magician, fooled many in the program, March 21 Vacation again, this time the spring recess, started March 28 and lasted till April 1 . , . April 2 will be remem- bered; students had to come to school one-half hour earlier because of the new time sched- ule. The second dance sponsor- ed by both the Senior Girls, and Pilot Clubs was on April 7, and many were seen there . . . The fifth six weeks came to a close, April 20, and the school year was practically over . . , C. E. Jones wresented a program in a special assembly, April 27 . . . The annual prom for the jun- iors and seniors came early, Anril 28. Evervone had a good time at the all-school Carnival, May 4, which started in the at'- ternoon and lasted late into the night . , . The arts, crafts, and home arts exhibit interested many people, May 11 . . . 011 the same date, the Pi-T. A. held a party for the seniors, the winmntr class of the attend- ance contest . Then ram? the L. S, A. L. track meet in Mentor, May 11 . . . The party for the band and choir, May 19, was given by the Music Boost- ers; everyone had a good time . . . Then came the senior party.
