There were also a bon fire and a very high-spirited pep rally before the game Friday night. At kick-off 895 balloons were released with the ju- niors being the winners with 339 red bal- loons. At halftime Miss Michelle McGill was present to crown Miss Julie Archer Home- coming Queen 1986. After the exciting game, there was a dance in the school featuring Gub 151. The desks are empty, The books are dust-covered, The playground is vacant Where children once hovered. The gym holds its memories Of ballgames we won; The paddle is silent, Its duties are done! No sign of life remains As I wander through the place Pondering o'er memories That time will not erase. 59 SENIOR DIRECTORY Janet Agan—Perfect Attendance 2; Economics Certificate 1; Algebra 1 Certificate 1; English Certificate 1,2; General Business Certificate 1; Typing Certificate 2; Chemistry Certificate 2; Algebra II Certificate 3; Spanish Certificate 3; Honor Roll 1,2,3,4; University of Georgia Certificate of Merit 3; Presbyterian College Junior Fellow 3. Mrs. Burgess is a graduate of La Grange College. She received her Masters Degree from West GA. And we are privileged to have had her at H.C.H. for the past 17 years. Mrs. Burgess shows her dedication through the love and com- passion she shares with her students. She teaches not only through the studying of text but also by the sharing of her vast experiences. She is one of those rare teachers of life. Mrs. Burgess is a fine English and Latin teacher, but most of all she is a friend and a credit to those who know her. We dedicate this annual to Mrs. Sara Burgess in appreciation of her outstand- ing service.
