Ben was hard working whether at home or at FFA livestock shows. He enjoyed living and experiencing life more than reading about it. Ben could think of more ways than one of getting out of classroom work, whether it be working in the shop or in the greenhouse. Ben was very active in FFA during his freshman and sophomore years. During the 1983-84 school year he was elected Vice-President of FFA. He showed swine, sheep, and had purchased a steer which he was to show at the State Fair in Macon the week of his death. Ben will be missed by all but never forgotten. 70 Spirit of Leadership DEDICA TION From the first day that Mr. Reeves came into our lives he gained our respect, motivating us with spirit to set and achieve our highest goals in academics, extra-curricular activities, and just in getting along with other people. Mr. Reeves not only cares about the student body as a whole, but he is concerned with each student as an individ- ual. He is not just our principal; he is our friend. To our friend. Mr. Melvin Reeves, we proudlv dedicate the 1984 REBEL. Mr. MELVIN REEVES 72 Board of Education L 1. Jim Wyatt 2. Mary Ellen McPherson 3. Cathy Calhoun 4. Cyndie Sewell Morris 5. Kathleen M.
