She is a friend to everyone, and is always willing to lend a helping hand. 3 It is with pleasure that we dedicate this yearbook to our school secretary, Mrs. Mary Lou Skaggs. « SENIOR Hold my hand and we're halfway there; Hold my hand and I'll take you there. Someday . . . Somehow . . . Somewhere . . . Wouldn’t you give your hand to a friend? It's not too late, not while we're living. Let's put our hands out in time . . . I'll reach out my hand to you. I’ll be your strength in all you do . . . I wanna hold your hand. Saw your hands trembling . . . These are the hands that can’t help reaching for you . . . Holding your hand and standing by to catch you when you fall . . . I wanna hold your hand. Hold my hand and we re halfway there; Hold my hand and I’ll take you there. Someday . . . Somehow . . . Somewhere . . . 6 Hands. What would we do without them? We need hands to express the joy of winning and the agony of defeat. Hands build dreams. Hands make dreams come true. Hands make music. Most of all. hands ex- press happiness and the promises of tomorrow. If the hands of time Were hands that I could hold, I’k keep them warm and in my hands They’d not turn cold. Hand in hand we'd choose The moments that would last. The lovely moments that would have No future and no past. 14 The hands of time are moving quicker now. Memories are gathering in the minds and hearts of many. We see smiles and shining eyes filled with enthusiasm as some people will remain to further their education. Others will make a big step into the world. Time will not let us forget the love and warmth we’ve found here, and the joy and laughter we have come to know. Our friends will always remain friends, for nothing can make a true friendship grow old. Our true friends showed us the way when we forgot the road to choose, helped us with the words to the song when we forgot the tune, and wiped the tears away when we felt we should cry. We are Rebels, each and everyone, never letting time stand in the way. The memories will sooner or later grow dim but will never be forgotten. . . Laughing and crying at the same time . . . Proud trium- phant smiles . . . Celebrating at MacDon- alds . . . Through all these times there is one who will always do what he thinks is right and fair. From the beginning he has struggled through the hard times along with complaints, ex- cuses, and permission slips. He held his head high. When everyone’s spirit was falling around him, he was there to build it back up. Though the road was rough, in the end it was paved by the glory of success and Jeff Lenard’s smile. Debbie Brown. Looking toward tomorrow is hard, but remembering yesterday is easy. . . Remembering the times our minds were flooded with fear and we thought we couldn’t make it is hard. When we finally did, it seemed as though it were a dream. The trumpets made it with bent horns and lost mouthpieces, the woodwinds with split reeds, the low brass with heavy loads and the drummers with ex- hausted hands. We all learned to take the bad along with the good, for without a little heartache, the good times wouldn't seem so grand. We have worked hard to make it on our own and are proud to be a part of H.C.H. Most will be sad when leaving comes, but we are very happy to be a part of this wonderful school. As time goes on, we will look back and smile, knowing we were there—sharing smiles and laughter, and as always, making memories worthwhile.
