Key Clubbers must be Sophomores, juniors and Seniors with high academic standing, good character, and a desire to work. Membership in this organization is open only to students preparing to be teachers. To encourage young people to cultivate in themselves the qualities of personality and character which are the founda- tions of teaching, to provide them with the story of free schools, and to give specific information about the oppor- tunities in education are the things the Future Teachers of America seeks to do. Its objectives are: to encourage effort, promote character, stimulate achievement, and to encourage and assist students to continue their edu- cation after high school. The purpose of this organization shall be the promotion of the ideals of honesty, service, and leadership among the high school students.
