Our hoys were afraid of the powerful name of llockmart-then, too, a couple of Hornet fumbles helped Hockmart out. Against Campbell Bud's punting pulled the game out of the fire. Also Pierce showed great defensive at essential times. Brilliant play with North Crowd--a game in which their passing attack was stopped cold. And we gained three times as much ground-just fumbled again. That scrap with Cartersville was the greatest defensive game. Bud's statue of Liberty helped tie this one up. ln a way. it was a victory for the l-lapeville hoy. Another good game. Again we were just overpowered. Forward passing came unto its own in this one. and Canton bowed out. Nlclntosh loosened up that arm and hit the ends with hullet passes. Loose defensive play all the way. The highlight of the game was lVlclntosh's pass to Terrell for a winning TD in the closing seconds. A mud liattle from start to finish in pouring rain. Now here was the fancy stuff. Team work excellent. Kirk and Blount slammed out with defensive power. Little Riekett was in there in the right place at the right time. He just couldn't help intercepting the pass intended for C. ll. 6'H. .- 1 ' i 1, 1 N ,.t. 1. 12, I0 2 f 5 sf ix i . 1 , 'VL .f N 1 Qs l , , 7 , , f g i, A' Eu WHO! ., l ' ,, ,, , , ..- , -e f js .i-.V , Q. Though he saw little Varsity action, he's a fine prospect for the next two years. 6 ft. 3 in. WILLIAM CALLAHAN 170 lbs. Bill, during play on the Varsity this year, has become a glue-fingered end. Very valuable player on defense. Nobody will be able to fill his shoesw next year. 5 ft. 10 in. MARVIN WATKINS 165 lbs. Muscles P.A.T. specialist this year. THEODORE PIERCE 174 lbs. t l'ed, a rugged hard-charging guard, finished his high school career as one of Hapeville's best. He dealt out more than his share of misery to opposing teams.
