Because of this fact, we are wont to blacken out that first year at H.H.S. But if we should do so, then there would be no seniors in '50 So, we term ourselves the last of the Four Year System. ln order not to go a single year without seniors, we lrregulars decided to take five years to graduate so there would be some seniors around each year. Just a little hand full made a big effort to please the seniors of '49, The eighty-three seniors of '49 claimed they had had the best junior-Senior dance in school his- tory. It was the quality, not the quantity, that counted. This, our senior year has passed quickly-all too quickly. Soon the highlights of our daily schedule will fade into qc., ,., gfi':5lPQC'i ' cznfu-.-. .. af-'N' Ef5f,Qtg?ff::1 N . ai-I-I-3 'Ifff5f:'::?. :' 517.391 r memories, dearest of memories which we hope to have captured for the yearbook records. As you thumb these pages you will note such happy occasions: How we laughed at the thought of Hobo Day with its queer rags and foreign faces. The holiday seasons, the sports seasons, the teachers and friends. Such sweet mem- ories-yes, and the Senior Play Here Comes Charlie with the excitement of who got what after tryouts and the dress rehearsal, always a flop, and then the big moment: Curtain Time! There isn't space for all our achievements to be writ- ten. just suggested recollections! And last, we come with heavy hearts and lumps in our throats, realizing full well our happy days are gone. Doors swing open to college, or work, we bid our school farewell, feeling proud to wear the '50 ring . . . happy to keep its memories . . . and to cherish the colors of green and white. - The mn again rbinerf' , :Qtr 1 -.11 t. Yes, by the end ol the second semester the junior Class was more than well on their way to completing their three hundrell dollar goal set for the -lunior4Senior Prom. It took hard work by a lot of individuals and the co-operation of all, along with the direction of class sponsors, to reach that goal and come out with some extra. The Juniors have shared some of the privileges and honors of the Senior Class this year, really dig- ging into the task of putting out the Hornet, They practically made up the Varsity football and basket- ball teams and were especially outstanding in the leading clubs. Our thanks go to Coach for a wonder- ful joh of giving Hapeville good hall playing, clean sports- manship, and a do-or-die spirit. Hapeville's athletic recortl for the past ten years is nothing short of miraculous con- sitlering the limitations of facilities: hut in the light ol quality in coaching, it's only to he expected from one like Coach Roy Brewer. ftaifif' S.. 4',.F4'2-'- ii' f-if-'fm W -xraazit T . ,. - R15-12::.?-s-:lf-f. ,,. .:1 2?fTH-.1 -V., , W ..lJ,'.:1'i ' .. f M If f'Mif ki, 4 Wi, fin' :X W' M8 ff , :ig , C , M was vs. llzixiil Xli'Nlulii:in. lumuix Wolf-li. lfoltoii .lolin-on.
