Marilyn Mlller was l-lomecomlng Queen with Bar bars Salmans and Dorthy Hertel as attendants Marllyn Miller was elected Cheerleader This year we presented our Senlor play entitled The malneventthlsyearwasour Senior Trlp 01May14at5 A M with Mlsa MoralnandMrs Rayllousmanassponsors, we left Hanlon headed for Carldsad, New Mexico Qtr route took us through Liberal, Kansas, Amarlllo, Texas, Roswell, New Mexico We arrlved in Carlsbad, New Mexico early Saturday evening Sunday morning we drove to White Clty where we went through the Carlsbad Csverm The tour was three miles long We entered the Cavern at nine o clock We ate lunch in the Cavern Dining Room which ls '750 feet underground After lunch we took the second half of the tour There we were taken back to the surface rather swiftly 750 feet in 57 seconds We drove to Socorro, New Mexico where we spent Sunday night. Monday morning we arose early and drove on to Atinona We went through the Petrified Forest We stayed in Williams, Arlaona Monday llldll. That nlgst everyone had what is commonly known as the giggles Tuesday morning at 8 o clock we were at the Grand Canyon where we bought tickets for a mule rlde down into the canyon While we were waiting for our mules and grlde Larry gave each of us a pack of sunflower seeds Our fellow mule riders from various states seemed tobefasclnatedbylhewaywe atethem We mounted our mules at 9 30 and started our journey The trail at times was less than three feet wide The mules walked along the outside six inches and for the flrst few hundred yards we wondered how long our nerves would last, but we soon realized the mules were sure footed and knew where they were going We rode down to the Plateau which was six miles from where we had started At the Plateau we were one half mlle from the rlver Marllyn was so taken ln by the vlew that she forgot to hold on to her straw hat The last we saw of lt, lt had almost reached the rlver We rode back a mlle and a fourth to the lndlan Garden, a plcnlc ground which was an Indian Garden and orchard long ago We ate lunch and mounted our mules for the rlde back Going up we stopped several times to take pictures and to let the nlrles rest. At 4 o clock we were at the top of the canyon Everyone dismounted and started walking, ln the most peculiar fashion to the car Mlas Moraln and Mrs Housman had taken a bus tour About 5 30 we started for Flagstaff where we spent the night. Wednesday we drove to Mesa Verde National park Whlle drlvlng up to the Indian Cllff Dwellings, Ml: Morain got excited and threw one of our hard earned dollars out of the car wlndow Naturally lt was rescued Wednesday night we stayed ln Durango, Colorado Thursday we visited Black Canyon, Box Canyon and stopped at several curio shops fa souvenirs and cherry clder We stopped ln Canon City for the night. Friday morning we took a tour of the Colorado State Prison and then drove to Denver where we toured the Capital building, museum and the clty Museum. Frlday evening we went to the lakeside Saturday we started home Everything went line untll we reached Scott City There Mlss Moralu had car trouble and we had to pull her car to letmore. We arrived in l-lanston about B o'clock very tired but full of pleasant memories of a wonderful trlp. Now we are golng to look into the future to see what we prophecy for the Seniors of '55. We see Davld l-lousman marrled to a cute chubby blonde he met whlle harvesting ln Oklahoma. She ls about as wide as she ls tall and they have four llrtle chubby blondes. we also see Dorothy Hertel as a Secretary to a big business man in Washington, D. C. She lsn't married yet but is still looking for the rlgrt man with lots of money. Marilyn Miller, we see as a Mlnlonary over in Thlland. She writes that she may adopt two or three little orphans. She ls very success- fulasateaeherandnursewehear. Larry Salmans,ls ln Alaska. l-le ls a blg land owner and ls doing very well. Say, you should see the picture of hls Eskimo wife and those llttle Esklmos. Francls Landry we see as a blg buslnea executive ln New York Clty. l-le ls a very handsome bachelor and drives a big shiny blue Cad lllac. Gsarles Arthur ls an engineer ln Colaado. He lsn't marrled yet, he says he ls too busy to think about lt. Barbara Salmans ls marrled to Matt Rdsr and llvlng in Dodge City, the Cowboy Capital of the world, or so Dodge City thinks.
