aaa Adfory One morning in early September in l9hh, nine tiny tote dressed in their Sunday best started their first year of school at the Hanska Public School We give the following people the credit for the founding of this class: Warren Blomquist, Kristen Droen, Sharon Erickson, Barbara Helling, Marlys Johnson, Merlyn Johnson, Charles Pizel, Judith Thordson and Dale Troldahl ln 19115, Garnett Ellanson joined us and Herlyn and Marlys Johnson and Sharon Erickson left us Thus the class remained the same until 19119 when Dale Troldahl left us and Bill Larson joined us In 1950, DeLos Vincent and Vernon Rolstad joined us making an enroll ment of nine in our class in the seventh and eighth grades In 1952, Gerald Miller, Donna Korslund, Clarence Sellner, Dennis Johnson and Joanne Paulson joined us after spending the first eight years in District Sh and District 31, re spectively This addition increased the enrollment to fourteen. In April of 1953, DeLos Vincent left us and Joined the United States Navy That same spring Vernon Rolstad moved to St Peter, reducing our class enrollment to twelve In the fall of 1953, Janice Anderson joined us after spending her previous years at Darfur and Comfrey In November of 1953, Barbers Helling left us, thus leaving our class to the mark of twelve After all the troubles, school burdens, joys, and swell times, we have finally reached the honorable position as seniors Each senior had memories of his heartbreaks and romances as we look back to our first day at school. We saw classmates leave us a number of times, and we were ready to accept a new member to our class whenever possible It is with deep gratitude that we extend a hearty thank you to the entire faculty who has worked with us through all these years We are now ready to accept the privileges and responsibilities of the adult world and to carry out our citizenshfp in a loyal and trustworthy manner. 6155 I'0l9 QC? Fifteen short years have passed since the Class of 1956 graduated. We've cone back to Hanska to see what everyone is doing and to have a class reunion. The first thing we no- ticed while driving down main street was a sign which read 'William Larson, Jr., M.D. Bill has a good profession now and is married to his beautiful nurse. Farther down the street we saw Jerry Hiller, who has a large dairy farm. He went to the School of Agricul- ture after graduation and is now very wealthy. We went to a newspaper stand and bought the Hanska Daily Herald. Under 'Society' we saw that Judy Thordson had married Hike, but was still continuing her career as a nurse at Hayo's Clinic in Rochester. We also noticed that Hanska had won the State Tournament, and were surprised to see that Warren Blomquist was their coach. Next we saw Garnett Ellanson who was getting off the bus. She's making a career of the WAF's and she told us she was married to a handsome pilot she met on one of her trips. She told us that Donna and Ron now own a famous resort in Wisconsin. They have two little Pfieffers running aroxmd, too. We saw a band wagon which said, 'Denny Johnson's New Time 0rchestra . He'e also a music teacher at the Hanska High School. Jo- anne is now living in California with her Air Force husband. She's the mother of twins. Next we saw Janice Anderson. She was an English teacher, but is now married to a coach. They have five boys who are going to be a basketball team. On the comer we saw a drug store. We went in and saw Kristen and her husband waiting on customers. She met him while attending the University of Minnesota. They also operate a Sportsman's Shop. Kris told us that Chuck was operating a famous hotel in New York and is widely known. She also said Clarence was a famous artist in Chicago and hires many beautiful models. He is married to one of these lovely ladies. This ended a wonderful day of reminiscing and talking of the good old high school days We plan to meet again in five years in New York when we can all be together. 7 I O O I 0 0 e Q I O O O O O O l C ' . e
