Mr. Barkdoll has been superintendent of the Hanover schools for the past 8 years. During that time he has given unselfishly of himself to build our school system into one of excellence. Mr. Barkdoll has also de- voted much of his time and effort to the betterment of the Hanover community. For students, faculty and citizens, Mr. Barkdoll always has a ready and warm smile. His genuine concern for all is a distinctive part of his character. For his sincerity, leadership, guidance and contributions to Hanover, the dedication of the 1979 Revonah is our way of saying thank you to a truly fine individual. SENIORS SUPERINTENDENT’ MESSAGE CONGRATULATIONS TO THE CLASS OF 1979: May I offer my sincere congratulations to the class of 1979 and all of the students of Hanover Schools. As you grow older you shall find that each new year comes and goes at a much more rapid pace than the previous years. So much of our life seems to slip by without the complete enjoyment of each day that each one of us should have. Our new school year, at this writing, is already one quarter gone. What have you accomplished, and how much have you enjoyed what you have done? Education is that preparation for life that lies ahead. The better prepared—the bet- ter you are able to cope with those unknown events ahead that will make up your life. Prepare yourself not only academically, but also physically, emotionally and spiritually. All are so important for a most happy, enjoyable future. I have every confidence that each of you shall prepare yourself well. May I wish you all a successful future and think of us in Hanover as we will often think of you. THE BEST OF LUCK TO ALL. Keith R. Barkdoll, Supt. s PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE Congratulations to the Class of 1979 and also the student body for a very good school year. I want to wish the Seniors nothing but the best for the future and God Speed! The Seniors are leaving us to pursue their goals in life. I hope they will always be proud of themselves, their family, and community and will take advantage of the opportunities our great nation pro- vides. I hope the students next year will take advan- tage of their educational opportunities provided them by their parents and community. We have few chances in life to take advantage of our opportu- nities. Let's not waste them. Best wishes to the Class of 1979. They all worked many long, hard hours before school, after school, and also on weekends. At times it looked as though things would never pull through. The directors as well as the students were becoming frustrated. However, as soon as things behind the scenes began to take shape, the sets were started, costumes were brought in, and people began to get the feel of things. It was an experience that was exciting for the students as well as for the teachers that con- tributed. How could any of us forget Pat Bannon in leotards or how small and delicate Cinderella's size 10 feet looked in those tiny glass slippers! 31 All in all the play was a success and we'd like to pat each participant on the back. Also we applaud Mr. and Mrs. Kumor and Mrs. Dwinnells for their outstanding efforts! Good luck on all your future productions; I'm sure they will be outstanding. 32 33 HOMECOMING FEB. 13-16, 1979 35 Third Annual Gong Show This year's Gong Show, hosted by Mr. Patrick Ban- non, was a smashing success It attracted such great acts as the Hot-Diggity cooks (pic. left) and the “Great Muncho Man (pic. below). However, there can only be one winner and the honors went to Mary Jo and Diane S. who played a lovely piece for dueling pianos. fit Celebrity Day On this day the halls of H.H.S. were filled with many renowned faces of the past and present. Among them were the Pope (pic. rt.), Superman (pic. far rt.)( and the wonderful Cupid (pic. md.). Everyone had a great time. Nadig, R. Curley, N. Donahoe, J. Nobis, V. Hamil, and T. Patterson. Miss Nadig was selected as queen to reign over the evening. I Puzzled! Eager students on their way to class?!? A DAY AT H.H.S. ... I'd rather be skiing! Which way did they go? The 1979 Jr.-Sr. Prom and Banquet was truly one of the Times of Your Life as the theme for this year's prom stated. The day began with a spring shower that lasted throughout the evening. However, the outcome of the evening proved the rain not to be a damper on the evening's activities. The festivities began with a superb meal and “Sunshine provided the music to complete the most romantic event of the year. 46 HEA BANQUET MAY 19,1979 ORGANIZATIONS D.A.R.
