DEDICATION MRS. WILLIAM J. KILPATRICK MR. REYNOLD E. SANDMAN At a time when people are continually speaking of the generation gap we would like to bridge this gap by honoring two long time members of the Hanover Com- munity. Mrs. William J. Kilpatrick graduated from Hanover High School in 1895. She is the oldest living graduate of Hanover High School. Although he did not graduate from Hanover High School, Mr. Reynold E. Sand- man has been in business in Hanover for over 50 years. He has been a great servant to the people for all those years. It is with deep appreciation we dedicate the 1970 REVONAH to MRS. WILLIAM J. KILPATRICK and MR. REYNOLD E. SANDMAN. Youth need, in the give and take of the school environment, to develop an understanding of themselves in relation to the opportunities, obligations and requirements of life. To The Students: Another school year is about to be completed. I want to thank the student body for their cooperation and attitude during the past year. The Seniors are about to embark on their journey to life’s fulfillments. The Seniors will enjoy success and experience failure in the next few years. I hope your education will enable you to realize your responsibility to yourselves and society. I wish you nothing but the best. To the Underclassmen, make the best of your remaining years. We are usually given one opportunity to take advantage of an education—Let’s take advantage of it. (j7 V 3) 3 I Mrs. John Morrison English; B.A., Univ. of Dubuque Mr. Perry French Speech; B.S. STUDENT BODY PICTURES This page sponsored by: BETTY’S VARIETY, Elizabeth 57 ✓ 58 FROM THE SENIORS Wc say thank you Mrs. Morrison what more could wc ask You taught us that English with you ain’t a task, You never gave homework but we’ll never tell, So thank you Mrs. Morrison you really were swell. We say thank you Mr. Woodward for showing us through, The mysteries of math so easy for you, It wasn’t a lark but we fought the good fight, And found out your bark was much worse than your bite. We say thank you Mr. Rameriz whose course is a treat. You learn enough Spanish, that’s if you don’t cheat. You know how to order an encillado, Down South of the border in old Mexico. We say thank you Mr. Murphy you had quite a chore, You taught us that History isn’t a bore, We learned that a date can refer to the past, As well as the boy we saw night before last. We say thank you Mr. Geiger for giving your all. The way you taught Chemistry never did pall. Among us must be a genius or two, Who’ll get to the top and give credit to you. We say thank you Mrs. Speer you tried from the start, To teach us that music can lift up the heart, In all of your classes we dug you the “most”. So fill up the glasses we’ll drink you a toast. We have left out some teachers, we don’t have time to list good features or think up a rhyme. Three cheers to you too. In ten years we’ll send our children to you. 59 60 GIVE US THE GOOD OLD DAYS” ELEMENTARY GRADE SCHOOL CHEERLEADERS L. to R. Luanne Sullivan, Jamie Crofoot, Judy Bradt, Jamie Ferrell. They had taught in the Hanover school system for a number of years. In May of 1969 the Board of Education gave each of these teachers a pin in recognition of their ex- cellent contribution in the field of education. We would like to show our appreciation to these teachers by dedication this page in the Revonah to Mrs. Keene and to Mrs. Harksen. We sincerely hope that their years of retirement will be years of joy and happiness. SUNRISE, SUNSET Now is the little boy a bridegroom Now is the little girl a bride Under the canopy I sec them side by side Where did she get to be a beauty? When did he grow to be so tall? Wasn’t it yesterday when they were small Sunrise, Sunset—swiftly flow the days Seedlings turn overnight to Sunflowers blossoming Even as we gaze Sunrise, Sunset-swiftly fly the years One season following another, laden With happiness and tears. What words of wisdom can we give them? How can we help to ease their way? Now they must learn from one another Day by day Sunrise.
