Without a doubt, we students of Hanover can’t boast that we won the most games, but we can be proud of the fact that we practiced sportsmanship; to lose a game with your chin up certainly is an achievement. All our games were exciting, especially our Homecoming game; Hanover beat Hazel Green 38 to 6. To receive a major letter in football, a Hanover gridiron player must be in at least eleven quarters of action during the year. Many people don't realize that, besides the action the boys see in the game, diligent and faithful practice is required of each participant.

964- 965 Late into many nights the Seniors worked in pre- paration for the Homecoming parade. Although we worked hard, we also had our fun. It was well worth it as the Senior again pulled through with first place. The float consisted of a large typewriter with the caption, The News Is Out--Hanover Slams Hazel Green. The Juniors blew in second with a very fine float. Their float represented a windmill-true Holland fashion, as it was surrounded by a picket fence and bright tulips. For their caption they chose We'U Mill the Wind out of Hazel Green. Next the Sophomores, who placed third, reminded us that it was Naut-A-Laus, which it wasn't. Last but not least the Freshman class had a fine float backed with lots of enthusiasm. They'll be helping make the next three Homecomings suc- cessful . The band goes through their pre-parade jitters. It was their first Homecoming parade under the di- rection of Mr. Hopper. The band works very hard weeks ahead preparing for their Homecoming show. 21
