Egad! Theatre In The Round Hits HHS This year the all-school play broke away from a normal- stage format and experimented with something new. Egad, The Woman in White was performed as ' theatre in the round'' with the audience, as well as the cast, entirely on stage. Egad was a traditional slapstick comedy with a suspense- ful plot of deception, murder, and intrique. The combination of one-liners with a creative story line made the play very fast moving and exciting to watch. A choral ensemble, who sang period songs as a prelude to the production, also sat in the audience to promote participation by jeering and cheering at the cast. Many thanks to Mr. Jim Watson, our director, for his inno- vation and creativity. His direction and support made it pos- sible for this year's production to be a great learning experi- ence for all who participated. Hawkette Tennis Team Clinches County Title For Third Consecutive Year The Hanover Hawkette Tennis Team, under the guidance of Mr. Palmer, still remains ahead of the rest. They have clinched the York County Championship for the third con- secutive year. These 15 girls surely can hold their heads up with pride! Not only do they look great on court, but they also know how to play tennis and win with dignity. Believe it or not, this team did more than earn a champion- ship; they also secured themselves a place in HHS's record book. They had a winning streak of 34 victories, the best streak ever at our high school. This streak consists of many nervewracking, close matches, but the Hawkettes always dug deep and found the strength to come out on top. The team consisted of fifteen dedicated players, only three of which were seniors. These senior players - Jessie Bie- secker, Lori Patterson, and Colleen Bahl - will be greatly missed. They provided leadership and spirit throughout the year. But with the remaining talent, next year should be just as great. The winning atmosphere that has been created on those Hanover courts has just begun and is not about to be forgotten. Right: Second Seed, Lori Patterson. TEMNIS TEAM: Row 1: B. Ehrhart, J. Biesecker, L. Patterson, C. Bahl. M. Miller; Row 2: C. Keffer, A. Troyer, B. Kuhn, L. Menges; Row 3: A. Cashman, J. Robey, A. Baker. Coach Palmer, L. Orendorff, L. Ziegler. A. Brough. 24
