Hockensmith Reigns Over Homecoming September 25,1987, was more than just another Friday night football game. It was the traditional Homecoming ceremony sponsored by the Student Council. It was a memorable evening for all. The evening began with a small parade to Sheppard and Myers Field. The court rode in cars decorated by their respective classes. The Hanover Alumni Band accompanied the court and provided the upbeat tempo. Following the band's performance, the Homecoming court was presented. Each girl was escorted by her father. The senior class was very happy to have Jody Hock- ensmith crowned as the 1987 Homecom- ing Queen. The crown was presented to Miss Hockensmith by Karen Ebert, a mem- ber of last year's court. Others in the senior court were Melinda Bortner, Melanie Caler, Jill Hartlaub, Amy Huntzinger, and Kim Rebert. The Junior Princess was Denise Foreman. The Sopho- more class chose Angie Rohrbaugh, while Jackie Vockroth represented the Fresh- men class. During halftime, the Senior class was awarded $50 from Student Council for hav- ing the best decorated car. car. After the exciting win over Eastern, every one went to celebrate at the Homecoming dance. During the dance, a song was dedi- cated in honor of the Queen and her court. It was the perfect ending to what had been a wonderful and memorable evening. Top: Homecoming Court: Row 1: D. Foreman, K. Rebert, M. Caler. A. Hunt- zinger, M. Bortner; Row 2: J. Vockroth, A.
