HHH ■■■■■■■ I ■ And so we close another year, another chapter in our education. I say “our” education because that is what the school year is for all of us. For me, for example, this was a year filled with new experience — learning experi- ence—ones I tried to share with you. Remember “To- day is the birthday of the Statue of Liberty,” and “To- morrow is December 7th,” and “Tomorrow we celebrate the dying of the sun as we celebrate the winter solstice”? I tried to share experience through those messages — even if the front two rows of seniors weren’t listening all the time. Though the school year started out in a somewhat confused manner, we quickly took sight of where we had to go and rapidly maneuvered ourselves into the current that would take us there. I looked to as many people as I could for guidance and direction; many of those people were students, without whom we would have “run aground” first semester. Despite the “newness” of the experiences each of us had this year, there was something refreshingly common to them as well. We have all been in school most of our lives; therein lies the commonality of the experiences we had —most of them we have had before. Each of those experiences was new, however, if for no other reason than each was being experienced for the last time. We met each of those experiences and grew from each of them; we are different — and, hopefully, better persons because of them. I know 1 am. Mr. Gregg Boehne DR.
