we '19-42 THE MELANGE Last year the senior class entered upon e much dis- cussed but deliberately shunned task which was that of pub lishing e school annual. They created e successful exam- ple for thee: classes who will, like us, succeed them. Within these patriotic covers lies the proud results of our continual worries and labors. Every senior deserves a large portion of credit which we believe you will grant us The underalessnen have also co-operated with us in collect ing our speelfied materiel. The chief purpose of this UMelsn3e' is to leave an illustretef and written account of the classes, organizations, and current activities dur- ing our senior year. To this goal we hrve aimed our most sincere efforts. ' SENICR PLAY . CStory of the Play! Henry Carter runs his business,that of selling carpet tucks, but his family is beyond hiu. His daughter, Violet is movie-struck and on the verge of eloping with s direct- org his daughter, Fudge, is a publicity hound intent on ennoxing the uorld's record for engagements, to prominent or notorious men, rdnjing from South American explorers to the latest pugillst champion. Her present heart-throb is s currently pohulsr poet, Angel, who is inspired by April showers and snrint gardens. Henry's wife is interested in dinners and parties, the larger end more expensive the het ter, Even Beulah, the maid, who should hsve been drowned at birth, hut soreone overlooked the matter, gives Henry many moments of grief. Billy Hey, the salesman, also cre- ates much excitewont substituting ss papa. SPOTLITHT The Spotlight, our school peper,is nublished semi- weekly by the high school students. This year itho cir- culation was l 2 Q including terchers, students, exchange papers :nd advertisers.
