1942 s-- Mr. Everett F. Brown B. S., Ball State Teachers College M. S., CBusiness5, lndlana University Mr- Brown is a combined Coach,commercial teacher and Boys Physical Education instructor. He brought Han- over's basketball team of 1040-41 to victory as County Champs. His favorite color is pink. His hobby is working on cars and typewriters. This summe he worked as a cost accountant at the Jefferson Proving Grounds. Mrs. Basinger B. S., Ball-State Teachers College Library Science, Ball State Teachers College Mrs. Basinger has very ably taken charge of our English departments since the absence of Mrs. Jones. She came to us from Muncie, Indiana. Also she has brought sev- eral improvements with hor,such as the course in the study of thc library's use. Her favorite color is yellow. Her hobby is collecting coins, stamps, and books. Last summer she spent in going to school at Ball State. Miss Rita Simmons Teachers' Training School, Hanover College Miss Simmons instructs the Sth and 6th grades in all of their studies except music and art. Her favorite colors are red and blue. She has many hobb1os,sports tak- ing a front position. The summer she spent in touring Montana, visiting Grand Coulee Dam, and other interests. Mrs. Erma T. Jones Teachers' Training School, Hanover College Mrs. Jones,is the teacher for the 3rd and 4th grades. Her favorite color is also blue. Last summer she spent in taking s reel-vacation--stayed at home and rested. She says she has so many hobbies that she doesn't know her best-liked. Mrs. Rispah Henning Teachers' Training School, Hanover College The first and second grades are under her direct- ion. Her favorite color is lavender.UHer hobby is crochet- ing. Her summer vacation was spent in visiting the West. Sho srw Mexico, Piko's Peak, the Mesa Vorda, Indians. Mr. John Gabel B. S.--A. M., Hrnover College . Teaching this year at Hanover must be a familiar experience for Mr. Gabel for he has taught here before. He has been principal here and also was County Superintendent of Schools for a number of years. His hobby is birds. His favorite color is red. He spent lest summer as a farmer. 1942 FACULTY Mr. D. C. Weir. Principal . A. B., Hanover College . M. S.. Indiana University Q: Mr. Weir teaches in our Mathematics, Shop, and Mechanical Drawing departments. He has two favorite hob- bies, collecting old and rare coins, and also raising game birds. He spent his last sum er's vacation riding his hobby, as he put it,--raising his game birds. When asked his favorite color, he said checkered, but he didn't say what color of checks. Mrs. Cecile Martin May A. B., Indiana University . Post Graduate Work, Indiana University Mrs. May instructs our Home Economics, Lat1n,and Girls Physical Education departments. Her favorite color is blue, but-likes almost every other color. Her hobby is sewing- and knitting, which especially at this time, is opportune for our country. She spent her summer vacation nursing a bad knee and a serious tonsillectomy. Mr. Adelbert Nillican , A. B.--B. S., Hanover College Mr. Mlllican, was in charge of our Science, and Social Science departments. He has many hobbies--among which hunting and fishing plays a prominent part. He spent his summer vacation working at the J. Proving Grounds. He resigned from his position here at H. H. S. on March 25, l942,to take a position in a shell-loading plant in Joliet, Illinois. Mrs. Lillian Jones A. B., Hanover College Post Graduate Work, Indiana University Mrs. Jones is another of our ex-instructors whom we hated to lose. She was the head librarian, and instructs or of our varied English Classes. Her favorite color is brown. She spent her last summer's vacation taking a correspondence ,course from a school in Kentucky. During her four years of teaching at Hanover she was respected and was sadly missed when she left school in February. Mrs. Edna Brlndley B. P. S. M.,--Post Graduate Work, Indiana University Mrs. Brindley teaches the music departments in Hanover High School. She also teaches art to the lower grades. Her favorite color is blue.
