.blplslf MEL ANG E THE MELLNGE This is the first time in the history of Han- over High School that an annual was edited. The Seniors of 1940-41, a talented and original class made plans for the annual the first of the school year. However, credit should also be, given to underclassmen. Much of the' literature for the annual was written by Juniors, Sophomores etc. The Seniors appreciated their help. The name, Melengg, was suggested by Nancy Hyatt, a Jolly mUHH1or, and the Seniors accepted her suggestion. Melange means a mixture, and it was thought to be well-suited for the annual. THE SPO'Il.-IGI-I'I' The S otliqht is published once every two weeks by tge students of Hanover High School for all the friends and students of Hanover. But that wwe when she left her home town of Brandon to live on a farm in Minnesota with a Wealthy aunt, some twenty years before the play begins. Having lost her aunt and inherited a large fortune she returns to Brendon, full of pep, dressed fit-to-kill and with ideas for community development years ahead of the sleepy inhabitants of 2 sleepy town. As a nwaker-uppern she has no peer, as the manager of other people's af- fairs she's n whiz, but when problems' concern her own heart and pocketbook she's not so good.
