Ne new take vou to Hanover High School to call to mind the graduating class of l94l. Me present to vou a young man who has traveled extensively throughout the world during the summer months to obtain information about each graduate. We now turn our uicrophone over to Charlie McCarthy.. Take it away, Charlie. HGood evening, my friends. This is Charlie, the life of the party. I an proud to be the one to remind you that ten years ado tonight, there were sixteen sen- iors passing in review hefore their instructors and un- derclassmatcs for the last time before thev ventured forth unassisted to help make the world a better place in which to live.n We take you into Studio U, Here we see the great- est News Commentator of all times. It appears to be none other than Eonnie Ferguson. She is a globe trottor and gathers most of her news first hand. Leaving the studio we inter into New York's most pooular night club, and spend an enjoyawle evening here To our surprise a glamorous chorus girl calls our atten tion to her dancing legs, we find her to hc our home town girl, Dorothy Van Liew, making good. We wander on to hnnapolis. he hear a sturdy voice commanding, HLeft, right! left, right! halt! one, twolu and we see tarvin Thurman in his navy blue and gold uni form. Marvin is now an admiral in the U. 5. Navy. As we hoard the Pan-American air lines we notice a very attractive lady in uniform, Lottie Hood. She is a stewardess on the Zephyr. When we dock in Argentina we sec bright lights which seam to welcome us as we enter an exciting place. TMELANQZE or Chapter III A The Junior year came and we were still losing some of our students. This year we lost Marjorie Comingore, who moved to Seludag Billy Miles left us and went to Jeffersonville, Indieneg and Stella Burdine quit school. Margaret Opal Jean came from Martinsville, Indiana. The class officers were Norms Pender, presidentg Gayle Menaugh, vice presidentg Neve Dicue, treasurerg and Dorothy Ven Liew, secretary. Mrs. May wus our class sponsor. We will never forget the day when Boone LaGrange and Kenneth Tull were awarded their basketball sweaters and Gayle Mansugh and Marvin Thurman got their letters. Everyone surely admired them. Then came the class play, NLook Out, Lizzie,n filled with fun and laughter. Robert Howlett left us for about two months and went to North Mddison, Indiana, but found that he could not stay sway from Hanover so he came buck the next yeur. At lest we had the gredtest social event of the year to which everyone had looked forward: the Jun- ior-Senior Trip. This was a day that will be remenbered by everyone who went. That, which ended our fun for the year, was a big picnic at Muskntstuck Park, North Vernon, Indians and u grand time wus enjoyed by every- one although it was s cold dey. Chapter IV On September, 1940, begun the famous year in which we entered H. H. S. with the dignity of Seniors confer- red upon us. Perhaps we sometines didn't live up to our name when we played pranks, and run in the hall und so on, but when we thought about this being the last year of our deer, old high school days we assume a dignified manner. This year we were the smallest clues in school and what s jolly and dignified group! Margaret Opel Jenn decided she would discontinue her studies und go to Georgetown, Indians. ' The officers this yeur were Neve Dicus, presidentg Robert Howlett, vice presidentg and Gayle M3DQUgh, sec- retary und. treasurer. Mrs. May could not stay away from our class so -she was our sponsor again. This year Kenneth Tull and Boone LdGrunge Iudd prominent posi- tions on the basketball squad, and were looking forward to their chevrons. They have been outstanding players during their high school days. They have exch played on the team for four years. This your the Hanover bas- ketball players won the county championship: something Which gave us ell u thrill. We assure you that Kenneth and Boone hed a lot to do with our victory. Baccalaureate services on April 27 and Commence- ment Exercises, 'May 2, will end the high school career of the Senior Class, small in number but mighty in deed. - Qfff dedl H U T ' .. A 4

The coach's face seems familiar, end as he comes closer we see Kenneth Tull. - P We decide to soothe 'our nerves by going to the Morld's Fair. Une of the siyhts we see is two great trspeze performers. As they glide through the air, it appears to he Robert Hewlett and his girl partner, Nor- ma Pender. A As we pass along the main avenue of ban Francisco, we hear weddinv hells. Comine from the church are the x,.1 kJ hride and groom. We recognize the bride to be Anne Jo Kelley, Our plane slowly 'desnends to thefgrourd, landfwe find ourselves in Hawaii. Here we sight two young men, Kendall Welker and Csrl dessert, teaching two Hawaiian girls the technique of diving on the Beech of Hawaii, Startini On the lone journey home, memories fade sway. A few femilier feces are seen on the plane, some being Gayle wenaugh, now a grocery msn, and Grace Clerk es s private tutor for a family in Texas. Next we hear the nilot cellinv the old familiar V ,, lu cry, nHenoverH, As we pass, two Young ladies ere hoard ing the plene,heva'Dicus and Jane netthews. Neve tells us that she owne e dress shop in Indianapolis end Jane also has made good, She is e heed lihrsrien in e prom- inent city library. , When walking through good old Hanover again a large truck pulls up to curb, and honks at us. To our amazement it is Boone LaGrange, He's now emnloyed by L W. Welker, end we see that he is doing all right. Nln closing, I have e confession to make., Every night for the pest week, I have knelt down on my wooden knee end prayed that in ten yoers the Senior .Class would dedicate s program to the world's greatest dummy, Charlie McCarthy.
