Nights Are Forever The 1977 Junior-Senior Prom was held in the Anna Maria Room of the House of Lynwood in Illinois, Friday, May 20th. But the prom didn ' t end there, because plans were made for Saturday to go to Turkey Run or the Dunes. Starting out the evening was pic- ture-taking by Victor Studios. The portrait background was beautiful and appropriate for the prom theme, “Nights are Forever. Pictured below: Just before din- ner a toast to the senior class was made by Sandi Moelhman, junior class president. Accepting the toast for the class of 77 was Leslie Mellul. Dinner was served at 7:30. It be- gan with fruit cocktail and salad as an appetizer. Then came the main course, if anyone was still hungry. The entree consisted of roast beef, baked potato, roll and corn. After dinner was the Garter Re- moval Ceremony. All participating gentlemen had to take a chair along with their dates to the dance floor and form a circle. The gentlemen kneeled and removed the garters from their dates ' legs. Then came the crowning of the Queen and King. Candidates for Prom Queen were: Lori Frazee, Leslie Mellul, Cheri Mender, LaVerna Tor- rence and Betsy York. Candidates for Prom King were: John Anderson, Jay Hollar, Bob Jubera, Mike Shanks and Chuck Shropshire. The reigning Queen, Laverna Torrence and King, Jay Hollar. The theme song Nights are Forever played while Queen, King and court danced. Party favors were given: They were wine glasses with the enscribed theme Nights are Forever and ma- roon stone necklaces. Centerpieces were given away to couples with a yellow square under their napkins. The prom was enjoyed by all who attended. It will be a memorable oc- casion for attending 1977 graduates. 18 Seated are Junior Class Sponsors: Mr. Brindley and wife, and Mrs. Doffin and hus- band. Standing: Paty Kistner and date.
