“
FOREWORD The 1967-68 KEY” is dedicated to the graduating seniors of Hanover Central High School. In view of the expanding demands placed on today’s youth, this year’s class of 1968 has met the challenge with a full commission and can be proud of their achieve- ment. As the first graduating class of Hanover, it is the sincere hope of our yearbook staff, as well as the hope of the tireless faculty and progressive administration which have assisted in maturing this year’s seniors, that in years yet to come, our book will reflect a small portion of the life which abounded within the confines of H.C.H.S. In addition, the ’68 KEY is also dedicated to the founders and innovators who have laid the groundwork that will persevere in years ahead and preserve H.C.H.S, as one of Lake County’s finest educational institutions. Among countless acknowledgements that should be made, it is evident that the pro- gress of H.C.H.S. has been demonstrated during the 1967-68 school year in many areas. As a full, 4-year institution, curricula grew to meet demands of Physics, German, Latin, Chemistry, Journalism and related areas of instruction. Activities afforded to the 1967-68 student, in any grade, ranged from sound drama presentations to any number of musical, athletic, and academic endeavors. Thrills this year came to many students for the first time. After a successful foot- ball season—Hanover's very first—the magic of Indiana’s State High School Basketball Tournament captured many. The taste of success and the realization of failure, the thrill of victory and the anguish of defeat, the feel of desire and the fall of indifference, the growth of concern and the absence of apathy,—all were a part of Hanover’s initial maturing year—1968. Hanover Central High School congratulates this year’s graduating class. But what is unique is the fact that this year’s class, as well as every other class, congratulates Hanover Central High School. Both demand the commendation— Well Done!” The 1968 Key Staff 4
