FOREWORD In the year of nl952N, the U. S. S. Hannibal docked at its port after a four year voyage. On the Sh1p's deck, there will be a promotion of rank for many of the outstanding midshipmen. Many of them have been working together for the past twelve years. Our ship has docked at many various ports leaving shipmates and gathering new ones. We have sailed safely through all kinds of weather and at times were faced with mutiny. Our ship only travelled a few knots before it was once again calm. We each had to learn our duties and perform them successfully on board, but found this made sailing easier. After promotion, many of the midshipmen will go to various corners of the Seven Seas to continue their work. We have prepared WThe Logn so others will know about our successful journey. As the sun is rising on a new horizon and the gang plank lowers for those who are leaving, we extend our sincerest hope for future success. FIRST-IVIATES 3
