DIHITIH Mrs. Gladys Robertson, tenth grade English teacher, has resur- rected T.L. I-Ianna's Speech Team. This year's team has been very suc- cessful. ln the Anderson College Academic Olympics, Amy Galloway won in solo acting and Dee Walker took honors in public speaking. Earlier at the Greenville County Bar Association's Speech and Debate Toumament, T.L. Hanna's Speech Team was runner-up to Spnng Val- ley High School in sweepstakes points. Members of the speech team are as follows: Kim Boseman, Dee Walker, Stacy Smith, Cooper Chap- man, Cynthia Peny, Jennifer Rad- nor, Stanley Thomas, Nadra Wilkie, Cari Fox, Tracey Bailey, Lynn Lo- gan, Jennie Duggan, Gabi Davido- vich, and Amy Galloway. Artist A Speech and Debate Club: Back Row - Stanley Thomas, Dee Walker Stacy Smith, Kim Boseman, Lynn Logan, Front Row - Cathy Jennifer Dugan, Cynthia Perry, Mrs. Robertson, Cooper Chapman, Jenni- fer Radner. The Artist League, sponsored by Mr. Herman Keith, is an organi- zation for artistically talented students. This year mem- bers participated in many activities such as sponsoring the Gong Show, tak- ing a trip to the At- lanta College of the Arts, and painting murals on weight room, cafeteria and hall walls. FHA During the 1986-1987 school year the organization was responsible for making Christmas stockings and fill- ing them with needed items for nursing home patients. Food, clothing, and toys were given to the Salvation Amiy. F.H.A. also sponsored a session on cake decorat- ing featuring Mrs. McKinley and a demonstration by The Tallent Tree on crafts. This year F.l'l.A. had 16 active members. Mrs. MacCartney has been the adviser since it began last year. FBL Future Business Leaders of America is an organiza- tion geared to encourage students to pursue a career in business. Active mem- bers are asked to participate in conferences. Hanna's Chapter was presented with the National Gold Seal Award Merit for the fourth consecutive year. This year's officers were as fol- lows: president - Tim Hughes, vice-president -- Brian Syzmkowski, secretary - Tracy Campbell, parlia- mentarian -- Cari Fox, re- poner - Karen Maus, and historian - Melissa Clements. The main purpose of this club was to get the stu- dents involved, and to support the athletes. Members sold balloons at the first of the season for one of the home football games and sponsored two dances featuring the Jon Latimus band.
