aking Waves To many, summer is the time to pack up school books, throw away old notebooks, wave goodbye to teachers, and head to the beach. During First Week, Myrtle Beach was a very busy place for many Hanna students. However, there is life after first week. Whether working, representing the school, traveling, or just staying at home, the summer of '86 was a time for students to relax and enjoy their time away from the classroom. After the first few weeks of summer, the relaxation was over too soon for some. Hanna proudly sent several students to Govemor's school. These people dedicated themselves to hard work for five weeks. Hanna also sent selected students to Boy's State and Ciirl's State. They represented their school well and had fun at the same time. Camps were another important part of several Hanna student's summers. At various camps, some students were counselors while others were campers. These people spent weeks of their summers lifeguarding, teaching, leaming, or simply being friends to a camp full of children. Several area churches sent youth on Missions Trips. The youth of St. John's and Trinity spent their time rebuilding houses for the underpriviliged. Boulevard Baptist sent their choir to New Orleans, they also visited St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Whatever the events may have been, each had its omm reward. During the summer of 1986, the students of T.L. Hanna proved themselves to be not only interested in having a good time, but also in helping 1ofstudent Life Others- Jennifer Eudy and Paula Taylor enjoy a day in the sun during 1.3 - ,F X. .
